So why exactly would people be BBQ'ing in a strip club parking lot at 5 AM?

I go to swim practice eaaarly in the morning. Leave my house ~5:05 AM, 3-4 times a week to go swim with my team from 5:30 to 7 AM.

Now, naturally, one would not expect to see many people on the road that early. No sane person would be up and driving at that hour.

Well, on a very regular basis (at least twice a week), I see a crowd of people loitering about in the parking lot of this strip club. (Before you say it - this strip club is located in a strip mall on a street with a very POORLY timed traffic light, where 90% of the time I get a red-light, enabling me to get a detailed look at the goings-on at this parking lot.) There's probably about 20 or so people and cars gathered in this parking lot. No idea what they're doing - and I don't want to know.

So, as we begin summer, and the season of BBQ-ing (Texans are crazy serious about their BBQ) - I've noticed about once a week that someone has a big truck in this parking lot, with a trailer, and a BBQ smoker on it.

This morning, I saw the truck/trailer/smoker - and people standing around this thing eating, presumably BBQ.

So, what - maybe they spent all night at this strip club, and rather than their body clock telling them its time for breakfast, they think its dinner time? No idea. Creeps the hell out of me, though.

Let me introduce myself

I struggled to find a name for my blog that truly captures "me." Well, that didn't happen, so this will have to work.

Sarcasm is how I express myself 80% of the time. If you are one of those types who cannot appreciate the fine art of sarcasm, then this blog is not for you. If you are - then welcome to my space and make yourself at home.

So, about me. Because I know you care.

I'm an engineer, married, late 20's, who is stuck in Houston, Texas. I do not like Texas. Yes, I know I should leave if I don't like it here - but there's this little issue about JOBS and AFFORDABLE housing that kinda gets in the way. Until I find a solution to those issues, we're stuck.

I'm on a swim team for adults. So, every once in a while, you'll have to tolerate my posts about swimming. Because I like swimming - and discussing various milestones I make.

I make jewelry on the side - as a creative outlet. A girl has to do something "girlie" to make up for all this time I spend at work with male engineers with the personalities of buckets of mud (or rocks, or hair - which ever you prefer).

For my other interests - camping, hiking, mountain biking, and travel to places that are not like Texas (hot, humid, flat).

That about sums me up.
